1. Check the energy efficiency rating

Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) rates the energy efficiency of all the products in India. The same is represented through stars and the highest score an appliance can get is 5 stars.

As per the scoring parameters, a higher number of stars represents a higher energy efficiency and vice versa. Hence, whenever buying an electronic appliance, a refrigerator (fridge) for that matter, check the energy efficiency rating and always settle for the highest ratings. 

2. Ensure the dimensions are a good fit for your home

Except for the single-door variant, every other refrigerator is huge and bulky. The gigantic refrigerators are very difficult to carry and even difficult to fit in the house. Hence, just make sure the dimensions of the refrigerator are in accordance with the dimensions of your house and especially your doorways. Otherwise, you might have to break the doors in order to fit in the refrigerator inside your house. 

3. Check the features and available mode of payment

Last but not least, you know the reason for which you are buying the refrigerator. Hence, make sure the product that you are buying has the features that you need. For example, double door/ single door depending on the family size, door style, lock and alarm, shelves and drawers, LED display, hidden ice-makers, and temperature control. 

In addition to that, also look for the available mode of payments. For example, most electronic products are available on EMI these days, yet if you are buying the refrigerator from your own cash, it’s going to affect your budget.
